Identifying Robotic Parts

Before assembling and operating your robot, you should first learn about the different types of hardware associated with it.

Cerebrum robotic units are composed of three different classifications of parts: base units, accessories, and augments.

Base units are the core of the Cerebrum platform, where all augments are attached and linked. Base units come with a collection of integrated sensors to help aid in the robust yet safe operation of your robot. The base unit also contains a set of processors to moderate instructions, fulfill autonomy, and operate the instinct system to prevent hazardous activity.

Mobility Augments (MA) attach to the upper and lower sockets of the base-unit.  They provide Cerebrum with the ability to move about in environments designated by the augment, and may supply other advanced functions. As far as the base unit is concerned, you may attach any combination of two Mobility Augments to your robotic unit.  Any restrictions would apply to the Mobility Augments themselves.  Such restrictions may involve net weight, power source, or terrain.

Cerebrum - Top

Utility Augments (UA) are input/output devices that can connect to any of the side faces of Cerebrum. These augments give your robot the ability to sense and interact with its environment, as well as communicate to other devices.

Accessories are expansions designed for, but not limited to Cerebrum. Due to their non-standard purposes, most accessories are not operable as augments, yet may still be able to be attached to Cerebrum. Electronic accessories may require their own software to operate them.
