| Problem | Reason/Diagnosis | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Karyon fails to connect to Cerebrum. | The serial port is improperly configured. | Enter the Logging Plugin and select a different serial port. You will need to re-load Karyon. |
| Cerebrum is in Menu Mode. | If the LED is magenta, someone has accessed Cerebrum’s internal menu system. You will either have to power cycle Cerebrum, or, close out of Karyon and establish a connection to the menu yourself. | |
| Karyon keeps freezing. | The serial connection you were using may be unstable or disconnected. | If using a remote system such as Bluetooth, you may need to check if you are within range. |
| Some plugins will not re-attach after being detached. | Some plugins may be forced to be smaller than they prefer, and will expand to their preferred size when detached. | You can either resize the area you want them to re-attach to, or, resize the entire Karyon window if you would like to re-attach the plugin. |
| Keyboard shortcuts aren’t working. | Keyboard events are detected in the “root” Karyon window. If you detached a plugin, it might be driving attention away from the root window. | Click somewhere on the root window (such as the Raw Data area) and you should re-gain keyboard control of all plugins, including those that are detached. There is also a chance your operating system is incompatible, perhaps due to an obscure locale or keyboard encoding. |
